Full-Stack Engineer — React / TypeScript

About the Team

At Screenz.ai, we're redefining the future of hiring with AI-native solutions that evaluate candidates across a wide range of roles and industries. Built by veterans in conversational AI, developer tooling, and HR tech, our platform conducts advanced, real-time candidate assessments through voice-based interviews and intelligent AI evaluators.

We're a small, senior-led team shipping fast. You'll work on real systems — not tutorials, not toy projects — and your code will go to production.

About the Role

We're looking for a Full-Stack Engineering Intern who's passionate about building scalable, modular applications with clean architecture. You'll work across our AI interview infrastructure, candidate-facing portals, admin dashboards, and internal tooling.

This is a 3–6 month unpaid internship designed for a strong junior-to-mid-level developer who wants to level up under real startup conditions. If it goes well, we're open to equity and a paid role.

Before applying: we ask that you complete the AI interview at app.screenz.ai — it's the product you'd be building. If you email your resume or apply through LinkedIn without doing the screening, you won't be considered. We want people who've experienced what they're shipping.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Build and optimize frontend components and backend APIs that power real-time AI interviews and candidate workflows
  • Collaborate on a design system shared across admin dashboards, candidate portals, and internal tools
  • Integrate with AI services (OpenAI, ElevenLabs, Whisper) via REST and WebSockets for conversational interfaces
  • Write modular, well-tested code using React, Next.js, Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL, and Python
  • Help improve developer workflows using tools like Cursor, GitHub Copilot, and modern LLM-based IDE assistants
  • Participate in code reviews, testing strategy discussions, and architectural planning

What You'll Need

  • Strong technical reasoning and clear communication — especially around how you solve hard problems
  • Understanding of scalable and reusable component architecture in large frontend systems
  • Familiarity with performance tuning: lazy loading, memoization, code splitting
  • Experience or curiosity with Jest, React Testing Library, and Cypress
  • Experience implementing and evolving design libraries in collaboration with product and design
  • Understanding of sockets, HTTP versions, and when to use WebSockets over HTTP/2
  • Interest in AI APIs: OpenAI, Whisper, ElevenLabs, Perplexity, or similar
  • Familiarity with LLM trade-offs between GPT-4, Claude, Mistral, and OSS models
  • Comfort using AI coding tools like Cursor or Copilot to ship faster

The Screenz Marketing team is a group of strong collaborators, strategic thinkers, and creative operators building awareness for a product that's genuinely changing how companies hire. We move fast, we care deeply about quality, and we believe great content compounds over time.

Our marketing function spans several disciplines: Direct & CRM (email and SMS campaigns), PR & Partnerships (media, influencers, strategic alliances), Website Management (content, UX, conversion), and Brand, Content & Community (design, social, voice). You'll work across these teams and feel the impact of your work immediately.

About the Role

The Web Content & AI Search Optimization Intern will support our Web and Content teams in advancing both traditional SEO and the emerging discipline of AI Engine Optimization (AEO). As more people discover products through AI-powered tools like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google's AI Overviews, we need someone who understands how content gets found — and can help us show up everywhere it matters.

You'll work closely with Web, Content, and Marketing stakeholders to optimize our site pages, blog content, and topic-specific experiences. You'll implement structured content enhancements, audit for coverage gaps, and help ensure Screenz is well-represented across both traditional and AI-driven search surfaces.

This is a hands-on role on a high-traffic, content-rich website at a company where your contributions will be visible and valued from day one.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support execution of Screenz's SEO and AI Engine Optimization (AEO) strategy across the website
  • Add and optimize destination/topic-specific FAQs on key pages to improve AEO discoverability
  • Ensure pages are well-structured around priority topics and help identify content gaps
  • Help publish and update blog content in the CMS, ensuring posts are optimized for SEO and AEO best practices
  • Conduct on-page SEO optimizations: metadata, headings, internal linking, and content formatting
  • Collaborate with the Web team to QA live pages and ensure content accuracy and consistency
  • Upload and organize images in our Digital Asset Management (DAM) system with proper naming, sizing, and metadata
  • Assist with documentation and tracking of optimization tasks using spreadsheets or project tools
  • Learn and apply SEO/AEO best practices in a real-world, high-impact environment

What You'll Need

  • Strong interest in SEO, content optimization, AI-powered search, or digital marketing
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to learn new tools, systems, and concepts quickly
  • Clear written communication skills and comfort working with content
  • Proactive mindset — you take initiative and ask thoughtful questions
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfort working both independently and collaboratively with a small team
  • Familiarity with spreadsheets and basic productivity tools (Google Sheets, Excel, or similar)
  • Exposure to SEO concepts, CMS platforms, or digital asset management is a plus
